Statutory policies

Our policies, written to be read - not buried.

The six policies below are the statutory foundation of Suffolk Sensory Kitchen. We have written them in plain UK English. Every policy can be enlarged, made dyslexia-friendly, read aloud or downloaded as a PDF directly from its page using the reading tools at the top of each document. We re-review and re-date every policy at least annually, and immediately following any statutory change to the underlying guidance.

Concerned about a child? Please go to Safeguarding & Child Protection first. In an emergency, dial 999 or contact the Suffolk Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) - see Contact.

Editing policies

For the site owner.

Each policy lives in its own file under /app/policies/<policy>/page.tsx. To re-date a policy at review, edit the reviewedOn and nextReview values at the top of the page. To make text edits, change the prose directly - the page is just Markdown-style React. To replace a whole policy with a counsel-drafted version, paste the new text between the <article> tags.

The reading toolbar (enlarge, dyslexia-friendly, read aloud, print/save as PDF) is automatically applied to every policy and needs no per-policy configuration.

A note on legal status: these policies are drafted in good faith to align with the current statutory framework for educational providers in England, with the National Curriculum, with the SEND Code of Practice (0–25), with UK GDPR and with Food Standards Agency guidance. They are not a substitute for case-specific legal advice. Suffolk Sensory Kitchen instructs an external education-specialist solicitor at every annual policy review and at any change in statutory guidance.
